Andrea Sargent was more than a little surprised when Kristen Ashley, the 2010 recipient of the Memorial Scholarship described this year's winner.

Andrea was the unanimous choice of the selection committee at HW Regional. The committee comprised of principal, guidance counselors, teachers and administrators. The scholarship is awarded to an accomplished Hamilton Wenham Regional High School senior whose personal, academic, artistic or athletic success is complemented by the energy and passion with which they encourage others in our school community.

Kristen described Andrea as “a passionate, optimistic, and successful student who has embodied Gabe's legacy to the fullest potential by meeting every challenge of her life with a smile.

Andrea made her mark at the Regional, with impressive academics and stellar contributions in both sports and school activities. Recognized for her sincerity, Andrea has earned a reputation for dedicating her time to serving those around her. Andrea (far right) is shown here with previous scholarship winners Nick Petrou (09) and Kristen Ashley (10). Andrea will begin studies at Westmont College in Santa Barbara California this fall.
